• What is Crime Stoppers?
Crime Stoppers is a non-profit organization of citizens against crime. Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards of up to $1000 to anyone furnishing anonymous information that leads to the arrest of criminals, including those committing serious felony crimes, and fugitives.

Information is received through anonymous Crime Stoppers tips that are received through a secure tips line or through a secure web connection manned by a professional program coordinator.

• Board Members & McGruff
Attend National Night Out.
It’s everything that National Night Out aims to do — bring neighbors together.

There were 29 different parties registered this year for Beloit’s 26th annual National Night Out.

The Beloit Crime Stoppers Board Members were on hand, passing out goodie bags filled with glow sticks, washable tattoos, bracelets, coloring books and stickers. The Crime Stopper Trailer was out with the board members passing out free custard courtesy of Culver’s of Beloit.

And to children’s delight, McGruff the Crime Dog, Mike, the Beloit Police K-9 with his handler, Bryan Hasse, fire trucks and police officers all made their rounds throughout the city. Officers visited block parties and got to know the citizens who live in the area that they patrol.

Many thanks go out to Culver’s, Drevdahl Auto Body, Beloit Crime Stoppers Board members, Beloit City Council members, Beloit Fire Department, and to the DPW workers who helped make the 2009 NNO a success.

• $5000 grant awarded to Greater Beloit Area Crime Stoppers
October 2008, Fred Zwiger of  Azko Nobel awarded the GBACS a $5000 donation to be used for community purposes. Some of the money was used to sponsor rec nights at the middle schools and the Beloit Memorial High School Key Club dance.

Crime Stoppers 6th Annual Cruise Night

Crime Stoppers is sponsoring the 6th Annual Cruise night on September 18th in downtown Beloit. Music, entertainment, 50/50 raffle, food and beverages will be available from 2p.m. until 10p.m. Burn out pit will be open throughout the event for a minimal fee of $5.00. A family event where one can see muscle, classic, antique, and hotrods.
