Crime Stoppers is a non-profit organization of citizens against crime. Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards of up to $1000 to anyone furnishing anonymous information that leads to the arrest of criminals, including those committing serious felony crimes, and fugitives.

Information is received through anonymous Crime Stoppers tips that are received through a secure tips line or through a secure web connection manned by a professional program coordinator.

• TipSoft SMS Tips
The Greater Beloit Area Crime Stoppers now has the ability to accept tips from cell phones and other mobile cellular devises.

TipSoft SMS is a Text-a-Tip application which allows tipsters to anonymously submit information to the Greater Beloit Area Crime Stoppers.

The Crime Stopper has to enter the numbers 274637, compose SMS text by typing in BACS + their message. The Crime Stopper can also send photos and videos with information. A number is assigned to the Crime Stopper to be able to track the tip.

• The Beloit Crime Stoppers were out and about for the Christmas Parade in Beloit.

Crime of the Week - May 08, 2006

The Greater Beloit Area Crime Stoppers is looking for information regarding two recent bank robberies at the Associated Banks at 2741 Prairie Ave on April 04th and 531 E. Grand on April 25th 2006. Both robberies occurred in the early morning hours on Tuesday. The suspect in the robbery at the Shopko Mall Plaza bank was a B/M dressed as a B/F wearing a dark wig under a white fuzzy hat. Approximately 6'0 and 200lbs. The suspect wore a ¾ length dark coat and blue jeans. The second suspect is a B/M, approximately 5'10 and around 180 lbs. He has tight curly hair with graying areas. He was wearing a dark colored jacket or sweatshirt with a light colored ball cap. He also had on gold rimmed glasses.

Anyone that has information regarding this crime or any other crimes is to call Crime Stoppers at 362-7463 or 36-CRIME. All Callers may remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward up to $1000.00 if the information provided leads to an arrest.
