Crime Stoppers is a non-profit organization of citizens against crime. Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards of up to $1000 to anyone furnishing anonymous information that leads to the arrest of criminals, including those committing serious felony crimes, and fugitives.

Information is received through anonymous Crime Stoppers tips that are received through a secure tips line or through a secure web connection manned by a professional program coordinator.

• Crims Stopper Scholarships Awarded
The Crime Stoppers board members awarded a $1000 scholarship to Luke Ludeman of Clinton High School. Luke will be attending University of Rock County for a year then transferring to U of W Platteville majoring in Criminal Justice.

• TipSoft SMS Tips
The Greater Beloit Area Crime Stoppers now has the ability to accept tips from cell phones and other mobile cellular devises.

TipSoft SMS is a Text-a-Tip application which allows tipsters to anonymously submit information to the Greater Beloit Area Crime Stoppers.

The Crime Stopper has to enter the numbers 274637, compose SMS text by typing in BACS + their message. The Crime Stopper can also send photos and videos with information. A number is assigned to the Crime Stopper to be able to track the tip.

Crimes of the Week - December 1, 2008

The Greater Beloit Area Crime Stoppers is looking for information on two burglaries which happened on the evening of November 12th or the early morning hours of November 13th. Suspects unknown broke into and entered the Arch Heating and Cooling Company and also the Desert Sun Tanning Spa.

Anyone that has information to these two burglaries or any other crime should call the Beloit Crime Stoppers at 362-7463 or 36-CRIME. All callers may remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward up to $1000.00 if information provided leads to an arrest. Crime Stoppers does not have CALLER ID.

The Greater Beloit Area Crime Stoppers is looking for information to another rash of vandalism which was discovered on October 25th at the Oakwood Cemetery. Vandals once again damaged over forty five grave site markers and head stones. Some of the headstones were broken by the vandals. This is the 3rd time this cemetery has been targeted by vandals.
