What is Crime Stoppers?
Crime Stoppers is a non-profit organization of citizens against
crime. Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards of up to $1000 to anyone
furnishing anonymous information that leads to the arrest of
criminals, including those committing serious felony crimes, and
fugitives.
Information is received through anonymous Crime Stoppers
tips that are received through a secure tips line or through a secure
web connection manned by a professional program coordinator.
Crime Stopper Scholarships Awarded
The Crime Stoppers board members awarded a $1000 scholarship to Luke Ludeman of Clinton High School. Luke will be attending University of Rock County for a year then transferring to U of W Platteville majoring in Criminal Justice.

TipSoft SMS Tips
The Greater Beloit Area Crime Stoppers now has the ability to accept tips from cell phones and other mobile cellular devises.
TipSoft SMS is a Text-a-Tip application which allows tipsters to anonymously submit information to the Greater Beloit Area Crime Stoppers.
The Crime Stopper has to enter the numbers 274637, compose SMS text by typing in BACS + their message. The Crime Stopper can also send photos and videos with information. A number is assigned to the Crime Stopper to be able to track the tip.

Greater Beloit Area Crime Stoppers is a non-profit organization run solely
by an all volunteer citizen board.
The goal of Crime Stoppers is to combine the efforts of
the police, citizens, and media in our community's fight against crime.
Crime Stoppers encourages people to call in anonymously
and give police information on crime in exchange for a reward up to $1000.
All money utilized by Crime Stoppers (e.g. rewards and miscellaneous expenses)are
raised through fundraising projects coordinated by the Greater Beloit
Area Crime Stoppers Board of Directors.

ARMED ROBBERY:
On Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at approximately 1:30 a.m. Beloit Police Officers responded to the Cenex Gas Station located at 1407 Liberty Ave in reference to an armed robbery complaint.
Upon arrival Officers learned that a black male entered the store and displayed a handgun. The suspect demanded money from the cashier and after obtaining the money the suspect then fled the store in an unknown direction.
The suspect was described as approximately 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighing approximately 230 pounds. The black male was wearing a tan hooded sweatshirt and tan jogging pants.
Anyone that has
information regarding this crime or any other crime is asked to call the
Beloit Crime Stoppers at 362-7463 or 36-CRIME. All callers may remain
anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward up to $1000.00 if
information provided leads to an arrest. Crime Stoppers does not have
CALLER ID.
